Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a linear polymer with the chemical formula (C3H5NO)n. It is a hard, glassy solid at room temperature, with products such as glue, latex and white powder, translucent beads and flakes. Good thermal stability. Can be dissolved in water in any proportion, and the aqueous solution is a uniform transparent liquid.  As a lubricant, suspending agent, clay stabilizer, oil repellent, water loss reduction agent and thickener, polyacrylamide has been widely used in drilling, acidizing, fracturing, water plugging, well cementing, and secondary and tertiary oil recovery, and it is a kind of extremely important oilfield chemicals. Used in dyeing wastewater treatment with polyacrylamide instead of inorganic salts and metal salts and other toxic substances to recover valuable sodium metal and various non-ferrous metals; with polyacrylamide on the coal washing wastewater and mine tailings water filtration will make the water clarified and more economically rational than traditional products such as aluminum iron sulfate.
Paper industry Enhance the strength of paper (including dry strength), improve the whiteness and opacity of pulp, also used as deodorant, paper wet and dry enhancement agent and resident agent.
