Polycarbonate (PC)
 
Cheng Yus Polycarbonate (PC) engineering plastic compounds have been developed to provide the suitable materials applicable to electrical, electronic (E&E), appliances and lighting industries. PC has a good combination of electrical, mechanical, physical and thermal properties, which makes it a popular choice of material for different industries in injection and extrusion molding processes.

Our product range together can offer exceptional performance to fulfill different demanding applications as well as meeting the different safety and environmental regulations.
 
Our Flame Retardant (FR) PC is also available with non-halogenated grades for eco-friendly applications. All our products are subject to in-house testing using international recognized standards to ensure quality could meet the different safety and environmental regulations.
 
Products Line Up
1. General Purpose
(ML***0)

This is general purpose PC with UL*4 V2 (1.5mm) rating and is widely used in the appliances and E&E industries for housing and covers requiring good impact resistance and surface appearance. The glossy surface and good color-ability has made it a popular choice for products wishing to be presented in various color media. Pre-colored resin is also a key strength for this grade where the materials can go straight into production without further prior mixing of pigments.

Applications: Household appliances housing, OA machine,lightswitches / housing,charger,electric-meter,building and construction boards,computer /notebook housing,television frames.


2. Flame Retardant
(ML**8 / ML**9)

These are PC with UL*4 V0 (1.5mm) rating materials mainly for use in E&E industries for housing and covers demanding better flame retardant (FR) ability compare to general purpose PC. These grades have proved to provide outstanding FR ability while maintaining an excellent balanced of thermal, mechanical and physical properties.

Applications: Household appliances housing / covers, OA machine,lightswitches / housing,charger,electric-meter,power box,battery housing, electric components.


3. Non-Halogen FR
(ML***0V / ML***0V / ML***0V)

These are non-brominated FR PC with UL*4 V0 (1.5mm 3.0mm) rating and their properties are very similar to the traditional FR PC materials. One key advantage of this product line is that it could offer better price / performance ratio for non-transparent applications compare to ML**9 series. It is suitable for products demanding the use of a more eco-friendly material.

Applications: Household appliances housing / covers, OA machine,lightswitches / housing,charger,electric-meter,power box,battery housing, electric components.


4. Glass Fiber reinforced
(ML***0 / ML***0 / ML***0)

The glass fiber (GF) reinforced PC have improved tensile / flexural properties as well as thermal resistance. The FR rating improves with increase in thickness and without addition of any FR additives the material can acquire a UL*4 V0 rating at 3 mm.

Applications: Watches components, mobile devices, E&E housing and covers.


5. Non-Halogen FR + GF
(FR****-NH / FR****-NH)

These are non-halogenated FR PC + GF grades with UL*4 V0 (1.5mm) rating for applications demanding choices of environmental friendly materials.

Applications: Battery parts, E&E components.


6. LED Light Dispersive
(Injection - LD***0 / LD***0 / LD***0) /
(Extrusion - ED***0 / ED***0 / ED***0) /
(Injection - Flame Retardant - LDF***0 / LDF ***0 / LDF***0)

These are specially formulated light diffusive PC developed for use in the LED lighting industries. Their applications are for injection or extrusion molded housing and covers to allow the LED light source to be evenly dispersed and passes through without significant lose in the light transmissions. The introduction of this product line is because traditional transparent materials are incapable of evenly dispersing the LED light and causing loses of energy / efficiency and resulting glaze that could not be directly viewed with our eyes.

Light dispersive PC nowis being widely utilized for LED products, which are becoming an important part of future lighting developments.

Applications: LED lighting covers, plates, housings.


7. Light Shielding / Reflecting
(ML**0 / ML**0 / ML**0)

These PC are formulated for applications requiring shielding and reflecting of any light source from outside media and also to prevent loses of light efficiency (energy) from the inside.

Applications: Display boards, lighting components, lamps parts
