Salicylic acid CAS:******7 is a lipophilic monohydroxybenzoic acid, a type of phenolic acid, and a beta hydroxy acid (BHA). It has the formula C7H6O3. This colorless crystalline organic acid is widely used in organic synthesis and functions as a plant hormone.

Salicylic acid CAS:******7 is a keratolytic. It belongs to the same class of drugs as aspirin (salicylates). It works by increasing the amount of moisture in the skin and dissolving the substance that causes the skin cells to stick together. This makes it easier to shed the skin cells.

Salicylic acid CAS:******7 has the formula C6H4(OH)COOH, where the OH group is ortho to the carboxyl group. It is also known as *-hydroxybenzoic acid. It is poorly soluble in water (2 g/L at *0 °C).
