For generations, our family farms in the south east of Nigeria, Cross River State, have produced beans of wondrous quality. We harvest the ripe cocoa pods by hand, ferment the beans between banana leaves right on the forest floor and then dry the beans in the warm African sun. Sun-drying cocoa beans at a farm.

To this day, European and American chocolatiers buy cocoa beans from Nigeria and export them to their chocolate factories throughout the world where the famed Nigeria beans are transformed into some of the world€™s most delicious and expensive chocolate. Nigeria is currently the world's fourth largest producer of Cocoa, after Ivory Coast, Indonesia and Ghana; and the third largest exporter, after Ivory Coast and Ghana. And we are proud to tell you that we our farm, The Chima Group, are a huge part of Nigerians export around the world.

Cocoa flourishes in areas that are not more than *0 degrees north or south of the equator. The trees respond well in regions with high temperature and distributed rainfall. In Nigeria, the cocoa tree is grown from seedlings which are raised in nurseries, when the seedlings reach a height of 3 cm they are transplanted at a distance of 3 to 4 meters. The cultivation of cocoa is done by many small-scale farmers on farmlands of around 2 hectares while export is dominated by a few firms. As we speak we have hectares of lands in the south east, central and west of Nigeria also between the boarder of Cameroon.
We also partner with other famers in Cameron and Ghana to enhance cultivation and productions of our beans. in other word consistency is not a problem as we one of the leading producers and exporters of cocoa in Nigeria.
