Shanlin Chinese Traditional Arts Studio Our Studio was built in July ***6. Our mission is to reseach, teach, practise and promote the art of chinese traditional painting, embroidery and kesi to the highest standards, within both historical and contemporary design contexts. Sometimes it is appropriate to conserve and archive an original piece and to create a reproduction. Using our technology we can produce a piece in either the original colours (as often found on the back of an item) or in the now muted, aged colours. We can also embroider replacement sections for parts of an item that may have gone missing or have worn away. SLA staff will use authentic stitch techniques to match those of the original.
