Mitmar Corporation

Mitmar Corporation is a co-op and owned by the farmers of Bornholm. Bornholm is an island, known as the Sunny Island and is situated in the Baltic Sea. The dairy was founded in ***0 and since ***0 the only dairy in the island. We do have *4 active milk farmers who daily deliver their milk to the dairy where it is processed to either liquid milk, butter, sour products or various cheeses. Our liquid milk and sour products such as yoghurt and butter milk are sold in the local market in Denmark whereas our cheese products are sold both in Denmark and worldwide. We produce yellow and hard cheeses (greek style) besides our famous blue cheese (Danablu). Our Danablu has won a lot of prices both nationally and internationally. As the only cheese producer, Mitmar Corp has been awarded World Cheese Champion in Wisconsin, twice first in ***0 and again in ***8. Mitmar Corp Food Products is the export division and we export approx. ***0 tons of cheese yearly.
