DURAN d.d. Pula glass factory was founded in ***5 and is now member of Duran Group which is composed of three other factories located in Germany: DURAN Produktions GmbH, Mainz and DURAN Group GmbH, Wertheim and one in the UK: SciLabware Ltd, Stone. DURAN d.d. is a worldwide known manufacturer and supplier of custom-made technical glass products. The company melts the borosilicate 3.3. glass and produces laboratory and industrial glass assortments. To illustrate both the diversity of products we give you an overview of our core competences in hand made production as well as a closer look at some of the most important production segments and applications of DURAN borosilicate glass 3.3. The production of glass and final processing operations are done manually. Production types are: hand blown and hand pressed; the company is specialized for the small and middle sized series of big volume glass vessels. The melting capacity of the electrical furnace is *5 t/day. The preparation of the batch(raw materials) as well as the furnace feeding is completely computerised which ensures the acuracy of the recipe of the glass brand DURAN that the company melts. The glass type meets the highest quality and resistance to alcali and acid demands and is, therefore, sorted into the 1st hydrolitic group. The blown production: the company produces articles with weight from *0 g - ****0 g. And the volumes from **0ml - *0(*0)L. The precision of work and the quality of the assortment is ensured also through an eaven wall thickness. The pressed production: articles from *5 g - ***0 g and diameters from: *5 - **0 mm. The final processing operations include: drilling, grinding, cutting, rotational neck forming, thread/tube welding, printing, enameling, sandblasting, scaling etc. The production assortment includes: flasks, laboratory bottles, beakers, milk jars for milking machines, hot water boilers, aircraft glass, illuminating bulks, protective glass, insulators, washing machine windows. The company exports *5% of it`s production due to the excellent sales channels worldwide and is a holder of the DIN EN ISO ***1:***8 and ISO ****1:***4 certificates.
