In the plasma spraying process, metal or ceramic powders are melted in the plasma arc and then sprayed at high speed onto the workpiece that needs to be coated. This method allows for the deposition of waterproof and strongly adherent coatings on tools and various equipment components. When used for spray guns, our electrodes must withstand instantaneous plasma temperatures exceeding *2,**0°C.
This instant high temperature and high pressure are not an issue for our F4 electrodes. Our company uses a back-casting production process, which forms a seamless bond between tungsten and copper with extremely high strength. As a result, our electrodes can provide long-term stable working conditions and extend their service life.
The F4 spray gun produced by Oerlikon Metco is widely used in the market but also faces issues like high cost. Our company is dedicated to producing high-performance, stable spray gun electrodes and nozzle accessories, contributing to domestic alternatives.
Plasma Thermal Spray Metco F4 Electrode Structure
The F4 electrode also uses the back-casting method to connect copper alloy with tungsten alloy. Through this integrated bonding method, the two alloys fuse together, achieving a seamless connection.
Unlike brazing, which uses filler material as an intermediary to bond the two alloys, brazing often fails to achieve a **0% connection. Therefore, products made via brazing may lack strength, and under the immense pressure and high temperature inside the gun, they can easily suffer from uneven heat conduction and cracking.
Plasma Thermal Spray Metco F4 Electrode Advantages
Our company has focused on the production of pure tungsten and tungsten alloy materials for many years, deeply understanding their structure and performance. To meet the stringent requirements of plasma spraying materials, we have improved and treated the structure of the tungsten electrodes used in plasma spraying. After densification treatment, the tungsten electrode forms a uniform fine-grain structure, improving hardness and density, enabling quick arc-starting and excellent arc erosion resistance, thus ensuring a long service life.
Our plasma spray electrodes and nozzles use unique back-casting technology to achieve a seamless bond between tungsten and copper, with a bonding strength of up to **7MPa, far exceeding the bonding strength of traditional brazing methods. Compared to traditional processes, this bonding method not only increases contact area and resistance uniformity but also enhances heat dissipation, ensuring higher stability and longer service life for the nozzle and electrode.
To meet the diverse needs of customers, we produce tungsten electrodes in various materials, ensuring excellent arc-starting performance and corrosion resistance. Our products have been researched and analyzed for plasma spray guns, making them perfectly compatible with various spray guns without requiring additional adjustments to spraying parameters. Our product range is comprehensive and widely applicable to F4, 9M, SG***0, and other spray guns.
With rich experience in producing various cathodes and anodes, we can custom process based on customer samples or drawings, offering semi-finished products with seamless tungsten-copper bonds. There are many F4 electrode manufacturers on the market, but many can only produce similar sizes, with significant differences in service life and performance. As a professional manufacturer, we not only know how to produce but also understand how to improve and meet customer needs, providing more professional on-site services.
