Description
Ceramic Laser Reflector for Pump Chamber
Introductions
High purity porous alumina ceramic of *9% Al2O3 content, used
extensively for long-life laser reflectors. This material is
sintered at high temperatures to achieve a controlled porosity.
Prime Features
1. Surfaces can be sealed and coated with a solarization-resistant
glaze to give high bulk refectivity
2. *7% reflectance efficiency at *******0nm
3. Reflectance efficiency exceeds *5% across the wavelength range
*******0nm (see curve)
4. Controlled porosity
5. Good thermal conductivity
6. High electrical resistivity
Physical properties
1. Color: White
2. Bulk density (fired), Mg/m3 :3.1
3. Porosity (apparent), % nominal :*2
4. Flexural strength (ASTM C***1, *-point), MPa :**0
5. Thermal expansion coefficient
******0C, ***6/C 7.9
*******0C, ***6/C 9.0
Typical Applications
1. Pumping chambers for flash lamp and continuous wave lasers using
media such as Nd:YAG lasers,
Alexendrite — low to high power, single or multiple lamp designs
used for welding, cutting, marking and in medical lasers.
2. Layered and segmented pumping chambers for diode pumped
lasers
3. Intense Pulse Light (IPL) applications for cosmetic surgery
