Chlorinated Paraffins Plasticizer (CPs) are straight-chain hydrocarbons that have been chlorinated. Chlorinated paraffins Plasticizer are classified according to their carbon-chain length and percentage of chlorination, chlorination from approximately *5% to greater than *0% by weight. Chlorinated paraffins are made by chlorinating paraffin fractions obtained from petroleum distillation. These hydrocarbons are reacted with chlorine resulting in chlorinated paraffins of different carbon chain lengths with varying degrees of chlorination. Thus chlorinated paraffins are a group of complex chemical substances and are manufactured in batch process.
