Description

We have copper ore from Nigeria for sale. Copper is soft, malleable, ductile with high thermal and electrical conductivity. It occurs in nature in directly usable metallic form. Its fresh surface is reddish brown in color. It is usually found in association with Sulfur, and slowly react with atmospheric oxygen to form a layer of brown black copper oxide which protects the underlying metal from further corrosion.

Some copper ores include Chalcopyrite [CuFeS₂], Chalcocite [Cu₂S], Cuprite [Cu₂O], Malachite [CuCO₃.Cu(OH)₂]. Copper deposits are composed mainly of massive and disseminate ores developed in or near komatitic and theolotic lava flows and sills. The largest amounts of copper deposits are found in the crust in bodies known as porphyry from hydrothermal fluids that originate from a magma chamber several kilometers below the deposit itself. These deposits formed through the gradual cooling of molten rock deep within the earth. Erosion and weathering over millions of years led to the surface exposure of these deposits. In Nigeria, it is found mainly around the Benue trough.
