Pigeon Peas 
The pigeon peas is a widely grown legume with a variety of uses. 
TANZANIA is among the top exporters of pigeon peas in the world, and has one of the 
highest concentrations of the crops processors in Africa. 
Pigeon peas are an important source of protein and Vitamin B. People use the seed as a whole,  
dehulled or as flour. In the Asian region, people eat the seed mostly processed into "dhal, " the 
easily stored decorticated split pea.
