INTRODUCTION
Phosphating is the most widely used metal pretreatment process for the surface treatment and finishing of ferrous and nonferrous metals. Due to its economy, speed of operation and ability to provide excellent corrosion resistance, wear resistance, adhesion, and lubrication properties, it plays a significant role in the automobile, process and appliance industries. Though known to be in use since late ***0s, the low temperature Phosphating processes have become more significant today due to the escalating energy costs.
 
SCOPE
FINBON is designed to provide an ideal Zinc Phosphate coating on iron, steel and zinc surface. The system works ideal at room temperature within the range of *0°C to *0 °C. The zinc phosphate coating so developed provides a network of fibrous crystals. These crystals facilitate the excellent adhesion of paint to the base metal and inhibit corrosion development.
 
PROPERTIES
 

  • It is suitable for iron, steel and zinc substrate.
 
  • It forms a small amount of sludge.
 
  • FINBONcoating develops a non-conducting bond between the base metal and the paint.
 
  • FINBONcan be used for both spray and immersion applications.
 
  • It forms a chemically inert layer on metal surface which makes it suitable for electrophoretic lacquering.

  • FINBONprovides adequate wear resistance due to the presence of heavy metal ions.
