Cylindrical lens

Description

Cylindrical lenses are used to correct astigmatism and mainly to change the size of beams and images. It can tretch a point of light into a line or anamorphic compression of beams and images. They are widely used in bar code scanning, projection optics systems, laser measurement systems and holography.

â– Plano-Concave Cylindrical lenses have a negative focal length and are used for image reduction or to spread light.
â– Plano-convex Cylindrical lenses have a positive focal length, which makes them ideal for collecting and focusing light for many imaging applications.
