Waterproo?ng is achieved by enclosing an upper section of copper-bonded earth rod in a plastic (UPVC) pipe with a total of four seals: on both ends of the earth rod and each end sealing around the rod itself, and between the rod and the chamber. The lower seal is further protected by utilizing a layer of bitumen resin to prevent against O-ring seepage.
