In order to exert the ultrasound probes to its longest lifespan, certain maintenance are required before and after probe usage.

Sterilization and disinfection liquid, ultrasound gel can corrupt the lens, making lens and matching layer crack, swell or creating bubble in between. Avoid such materials left unattended after probe usage. Crash or collision of the probes need be avoided too, as the crystal is easy to get broken.

Before using the probe, please check the following.

Swelled lens or bubbled lens
Crack between lens and scan head housing.
Cable breakage

Attention: Crack on scan head may resulting in leakage of electric shock, though it is not deadly,  patients, especially those who are pregnant, will feel upset and uncomfortable during diagnosis. These cracks will affect the maintenance of probes. Gel or liquid gets inside the scan head will corrode soldering joints, influence image quality and eventually cause misdiagnosis.
