Kopsulizole (Ensulizole : PhenylBenzimidazoleSulphonic Acid- PBSA) is a highly effective UV B filter which forms water soluble salts with the addition of base. Meets USP**9 Monograph for Ensulizole USP. PBSA is practically odorless, has excellent stability and dermatologically tested. In USA usage level of PBSA is up to 4% depending on the protection desired. In EU Countries it can be used at concentration level as high as 8%. Significant synergy of PBSA with other sunscreen brings about considerable increase in sun protection factor. Therefore sunscreens can be formulated using low concentration of other UV filters with PBSA.
