H*3 Tool Steel
★H*3 is an air hardening (hot work) tool steel containing 5% chromium.
It is one of the most popular of the hot work steels available.
★H*3 is widely used in the die cast and aluminum extrusion buiness as a material of choice. H*3 offers toughness, temper resistance operates in high temperatures, and also offers heat check resistance.
★H*3 has a machinability rating of *0% to *0% of a 1% carbon tool steel.
★H*3 is sold in the annealed condition. Typical annealed hardness is BHN **2/**5 Rc *1/*1.
★H*3 maximum working hardness is BHN **5 Rc *3.
★H*3 is capable of meeting ASTM-A**1.
