Application:

Benzophenone serves as the UV absorber and Intermediate of organic pigments, pharmaceuticals, fragrances and pesticides. In the pharmaceutical industry BP is used to produce ring B piperidine, benzoyl tropine hydrobromide and diphenhydramine salt. As BP can give sweet flavor to perfumes, it’s widely used in perfume and soap flavor

Benzophenone is used to prevent ultraviolet light from damaging scents and colors in products such as perfumes and soaps. This allows the manufacturer to package the product in clear glass or plastic. Without it, opaque or dark packaging would be used.
It can also be added to the plastic packaging as a UV blocker and sometimes used as a flavoring agent in personal care products.
