Description

The gemstones are of precious stones and is certified with a certificate from the University of Technology here in Papua New Guinea. They include 1 x *3 kg red Jasper and 2 pecies of Green Quartz.

A silica glass that consists of nearly pure silica (*8% Sio2).  The brittle material has the tendency to shatter within creating in-situ fractures which consequently induces multiply internal defractions.  Has faded green color from the Conchoidal flakey peripheral edges and consequently to a more darker green towards the core of the glassy matrics.  Owing to its close resemblance to quartz, this glass rock bearing the characteristics colour (green) of a quartz variety called PRASIOLITE.  With or without the external tint, glasses faceted from these material lack brilliancy and have a very limited amount of dispersion owing to their low DR value between the B-G interval.

Red Jasper, Opaque and fine grained, this particular sample of Jasper occurs predominantly in red.  Categorizes into the chalcedony family of microcrystalline quartz, this jasper is partially organic due to its deposition/redeposition history.  Obviously, Iron rich mineral within sediments during the formation eventually got concentrated after slow and gradual sediment burial and lithification which consequently allows for compaction and water weaning that gives rise to the colour.  This process is later followed by silicification to become quartz.  FRactures are evidently conchoidal with flakey edges.
