Description

Alloy **0 is a Nickel-Chromium alloy designed for use from cryogenic to elevated temperatures in the range of ***0 deg . The high nickel content ofthe alloy enables it to retain considerable resistance under reducing conditions and makes it resistant to corrosion by a number of organic and inorganiccompounds. The nickel content gives it excellent resistance to chloride-iron stress-corrosion cracking and also provide excellent resistance to alkalinesolutions.

Alloy **0 is non-magnetic ,has excellent mechanical properties and a combination of high strength and good workability. Alloy exhibits cold forming characteristics normally associated with chromium-nickel stainless steels.

Characteristics:

Resistant to a wide range of corrosive media. The chromium content gives better resistance than alloy **0 and **1 under oxidizing conditions, at the same time the high nickel gives good resistance to reducing conditions.Virtually immune to chlorine ion stress corrosion cracking.Demonstrates adequate resistance to organic acids such as acetic, formic and stearic.Excellent resistance to high purity water used in primary and secondary circuits of pressurized nuclear reactors.Little or no attack occurs at room and elevated temperatures in dry gases. Such as chlorineor hydrogen chloride. At temperatures up to **0  in these media, this alloyhas been shown to be one of the most resistant of the common alloys.

 Inconel **1 is a nickel-chromium alloy used for applications that require resistance to corrosion and heat. This nickel alloy stands out due to its resistance to high temperature oxidation, remaining highly resistant to oxidation through ***0° F. Alloy **1 develops a tightly adherent oxide scale which resists spalling even under conditions of severe thermal cycling. This nickel alloy has good high temperature strength, and retains its ductility after long service exposure. It has good resistance to aqueous corrosion, high mechanical strength, and is readily formed, machined and welded. Inconel **1’s properties make it a material of broad utility in fields like thermal processing, chemical processing, pollution control, aerospace, and power generation. However, alloy **1 is not suggested for use in strongly reducing, sulfur bearing environments.
