Operating on a Windows Mobile 6.0 platform, the A*5 allows access to powerful administrative functionality and location based applications while working in the field. The A*5 also has a dedicated Emergency button for any instance where help is needed immediately. In combination with the Airosled accessory, the A*5 is able to gather RFID, Mag Stripe and/or Bar Code data.

Housing
The A*5 housing is comprised of Lexan, a lightweight material that allows the device to maintain its ruggedness. One of the most distinctive attributes of Lexan is its high impact strength. Few other engineering plastics can match its ability to stand up to hard knocks in very cold or very hot temperatures. The Lexan housing on the A*5 is shatter-resistant and virtually unbreakable. Lexan resin adds toughness and durability to the A*5, allowing the lighter weight device to maintain the necessary safety and security standards customers need.
