neighboring Russia and Kazakhstan – primarily coalmines for
Anthracite Coal. Most coalmines on post Soviet terrains are still

boilers). If they all switch from Russian Gaz to home-mined Coal,
foreign businessmen would consider coming here to buy and run
coalmines. So far Ukrainian families in their majority cannot tell
difference between good quality anthracite (high heating, no smell,
no smoke, no soot) and regular steaming coals (all to the
opposite). But news & knowledge about coals now spread even on
television and sooner or later there definitely be reorientation
and refinement of Ukrainian domestic coal consumption. Would you,
as typical foreign buyer, still always bluntly continue offering
L/C payment on CIF basis for Ukrainian coal products?
Today, say, try to hire a Russian-speaking interpreter and have him
call the first our coalmine he finds in Internet. “We work only
with big overseas end-users” there will be answer. Do you image
what answer there will be tomorrow? (I prompt: “We work only with
big domestic end-buyers”)
