Sales Manager for a mineral water bottler in the UK called Blue
Keld Springs Ltd –
We have national distribution
throughout the UK and are also very active in Bahrain, China,
Denmark (retail only), France, Guernsey, Holland, Hong Kong,
Latvia, Poland, Russia, Sweden (all major retailers and plastic
bottles only) and we have just appointed a distributor in The
Maldives. We are now keen to appoint HORECA distributor for
New Zealand (glass bottles).
With regards to route to market for
our products, we generally recommend that the Natural Flavoured
Mineral Waters are most suited to the retail sector and the glass
bottles are better suited to the HORECA sector but there is no hard
and fast rule as we have found that it varies market by
market. For example, in the UK and France, we probably have a
*0/*0 split of business between retail and restaurants, whereas in
Sweden in Denmark, the business is predominantly with major
supermarkets. In The Netherlands, we have a much greater
presence in the hotel, restaurant and catering sectors (HORECA) and
of course your current customer sector plays a major part as to
which route you take.
