The frequency shifting repeater are applied to GSM, CDMA, WCDMA/UMTS, Tetra/IDEN/GSM-R repeater. A frequency shifting repeater consists of two different elements, a master unit close to the BTS and at least on remote unit close to the area to be covered. The master unit amplifiers the channel from the BTS and shifts them to different channel. In the remote, the shifted channels from the master unit will be transferred back to the original channels and amplifer. This is valid for the downlikn signal as well as for the uplink signal. Due to reasons of receives and transmit different frequencies, frequency shifting repeater overweights other repeaters in its larger gain achievement(*7dB) and more extended coverage area.
