Its feeding value is based on growth promotion and Chemo-attractant properties (glycine and betaine) which are important activators of the feeding behavior. Biological studies have shown that squid contains some unidentified growth factors which are called (squid factor). Growth was enhanced in some prawn species by *0 to *0% when the diet was supplemented with squid meal. The lipid of squid reduces the serum cholesterol in animals.
