Cross docking allows McKenna to bring value to the customer by saving them time and money. It is an effective solution designed to improve transportation services and to diminish storage and handling costs. Cross docking is the practice of unloading products from an incoming truck or container and immediately prepping these products for outbound shipping and order fulfillment. This is a system that eliminates the warehousing aspect of logistics, as the product never goes further in the facility thanbeyond the staging area. Cross docking is used to decrease inventory storage and to increase efficiency and profitability by streamlining the flow between the supplier and the manufacturer. In addition, specific labelling and packaging can be arranged as another service that McKenna provides to offer better individualized services to our clients. Cross docking allows clients to reduce the amount of excess inventory they have at their own warehouse, thus reducing carrying costs and creating more space for them to utilize.
