Composition: 1% Octopirox (Piroctone Olamine) Properties: 1) The action of Act hair shampoo is attributed to its potent antimicrobial and antioxidative action. 2) Octopirox acts as antibacterial and antifungal compound against the most common microflora involved in the production of flakes and allergic byproduct obtained through metabolism of fatty acids. 3) This byproduct cause inflammatory reactions causing itching which may be accompanied by flakes. 4) Malassezia species (xxxxx and xxxxx) are involved in common disorders as dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis and pityriasis versicolor. 5) Octopirox inhibits Malassezia species and is used to over come the mentioned disorders. Indications: Treatment and prophylaxis of infection in which Malassezia species are involved such as: 1) Dandruff 2) Seborrheic Dermatitis 3) Pityriasis versicolor Application and instructions: Apply suitable amount to the affected area (scalp, face and body) leave for 5 minutes then rinse with water. Treatment Dandruff, Seborheic dermatitis, P.versicolor twice a week for 2 to 4 weeks Prophylaxis Dandruff, Seborheic dermatitis, P.versicolor Once To twice weekly Contraindications: Hypersensitivity of the ingredients.
