T-114: Open Style With Inside Band

This open style series requires protection from dust, dirt, water and foreign matter; therefore a machined housing or oil bath is recommended. The balls are retained between two hardened steel races, banded together by a mild steel or brass sleeve on the inside diameter. When preloaded and installed so as to be held by the outside diameter “B” the "V" grooved raceways enable this series to carry radial loads equal to *5% of its thrust load capacity while decreasing the amount of friction created by a full contact round groove design. The banded style typically allows more balls per bearing , thus providing greater thrust capacity than a 3 piece retained style bearing of similar dimensions.
