White carbon black is a highly-refined chemical product mainly composed of SiO2 (approximately *0%**5%). It is white in color; its name is due to the fact that its main properties and uses are similar to those of carbon black. Its chemical characteristics are stable, it has good dispersion, and it is insoluble in water, heat resistant, nonflammable, resistant to acids and alkalis, non-polluting, porous, and a very good insulator. White carbon black is chiefly used as a rubber filler and reinforcing agent. It is used in the manufacture of white, colored, and transparent rubber products. It can significantly improve the tensile strength, tear resistance, and abrasion resistance of rubber products.

It can be produced by precipitation from a sulfuric acid solution of silicates, or made using a vapor phase method.
