The largest bamboo - Dendrocalamus sinicus seeds

Culm ****0 m tall by ****7 cm DBH, with straight culms and drooping tops. The lower sections of Internode ****5 cm long with **6 cm thick Culm walls, but the middle sections are ****0 cm long with **2 cm thick Culm walls. The branches present a very high branching, at ***0 m, with numerous branches and fairly developed principal branches. Sheath persistent for many years, leathery, longer than the Internode, with dense tiny setae on the dorsal surface and undeveloped auricles. Sheath ligules **7 mm long with the sheath blades erect or slightly extending. Leaf blade large, ****5 cm long by **8 cm wide.

Dendrocalamus sinicus is mainly distributed in Xishuangbanna, Pu'er and Lincang and cultivated in the areas of Yuxi, Kunming, Red River and Dehong of Yunnan and also introduced and cultivated in Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan, but the cultivar doesn't grow as well as in its original places and also found in Burma, tolerant a temperature of *3℃.

The bamboo stand is giant and upright and beautiful, used as an ornamental plant for landscaping and parks.
