The Soybean Oil is the most consumed worldwide and its direct competitor is the palm oil. In Brazil we have several incentives for the production and marketing of soybean oil that can be produced in the following qualities: crude, refined edible, refined industrial lecithin. The refined soybean oil is presented as oil of yellowish color, clean, with a mild characteristic odor and flavor.
The use of Soybean Oil

The Soybean Oil has a diversified food use: cooking oil, salad seasoning, producing margarine, vegetable fat, and mayonnaise among others. The advantage of soybean oil over other oils is due to its low price combined with its excellent quality.

Soybean Oil Application

Besides being widely used in food and in the manufacture of food products, soybean oil has many other applications among the ones we have mentioned. It can be applied also within: cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food, veterinary, animal feed, industrial production of coatings, paints, plastics, lubricants, and others.

Comments

Currently soybeans are in evidence due to the discussion on its transgenic form. It still generates much controversy surrounding the soybean use.  However, we should not forget that soy is presented as an important source of protein because its seeds contain about *0% in proteins, while beef and fish, provide only *8%.
