When at *0 centigrade, the solubility is *7.2g/**0ml water. It will react with acid, and become sulfureted hydrogen. It dissolves in water slightly, but not dissolves in aether. In paper making industry, it serves as boiling helper in making paper. In weave industry, it used to doff saltpeter of man-made fibrin and to revert nitration goods.
