us
Nilima Silks, the brand mirrors the
inclusive growth of a large number of artisans across multiple
locations in Jharkhand & Bihar State in India. Our Endeavour is
to provide original and latest designs to the customers working
very closely with the artisans. This will ensure a fair deal for
both, an affordable and aesthetic product to the customer and
inclusive growth for a decent living to the artisans.
Nilima Silks Private Limited is
founded with a belief that it is possible to provide self
sustaining model with dignity to the artisans. Since the biggest
problem is the isolation from the markets and adhoc subsidies
prolong the existing situation unless concerted efforts are made to
organize the artisans, convert them with markets and enhance the
skill sets to deal with their challenges. Hence the need to support
the marketing of the handloom products and the group of artisans in
the Jharkhand & Bihar emerged which will help in fulfilling the
need to provide and sustain the respective art, tradition and
extensive skills of the State and the artisans
involved.
The products are sourced from the
different handloom clusters spreading all over the States. Our
teams works by developing products in specialized areas like
weaving, dying techniques printing, patch work, quilting, and
embroidery.
Starting from apparels, accessories
to home furnishing and life style products, We offers a diverse,
colourful assortment of products. Our products are developed while
working with the craftsman towards improving their crafts, building
upon their skills, knowledge and capacity by suggesting
contemporary and latest design s. We are working for
preserving the heritage products of Handlooms like Eri
( Peace Silk) Stoles, Tasar Saree, & Dress
materials and many more clusters, rejuvenating the traditional
crafts and also for the welfare of the weavers. We are
enhance the livelihood options to more than a hundred artisans
spread around in about 8 clusters across the states.
Our Main Products is
From Tasar & Eri Silks
"Tasar" is a natural silk and its
silkworms are reared on live trees as they do not feed on plucked
leaves. It is a forest based activity and its exposure to nature
results in it's truly multi tonal look which can never be
duplicated by manmade fabric .This makes it a truly wild silk much
sought after by connoisseurs.
We have also have an AHIMSA or non-violent silk range made
from verifiable manufacturing processes.
We export to USA, UK, Sweden, Germany & Netherlands. We are a
synonymous to social accountability, love for nature and respect
for human traditions. That is why it is sensitively and actively
involved in a constant search for new opportunities that may
further underline its mission.
It brings contemporary designs for modern women and homes, using
raw silk to make handmade yarn and then weaving it on handlooms, so
that the product you buy is uniquely different in origin and
appearance and it complements your sense of aesthetics and social
consciousness.
It is the expression of simplicity, purity and of the values of
