SAPROPEL DESCRIPTION
 
Lake and pond silt - sapropel, has long been used as a fertilizer to improve soil fertility, because it includes phosphorus, potassium, humic acid, trace elements (manganese, iron, copper, boron and others.)
When applied to the soil he usually plays the role of natural bio-stimulator, enhancing the development of beneficial soil microorganisms. And sapropel retains moisture well. Application of fertilizer helps to reduce the negative effects on soils contaminated with heavy metals. This is because the silt attract a harmful substance, not allowing them to go into the plant. These substances, of course, do not disappear simply are not available to plants.
