Commercial Name : Polyester Filament Yarn Technical Name : Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY) ITC (HS) Code : *******0 Description FDY that is Fully Drawn Yarn is produced by a process almost similar to POY (partially oriented yarn) manufacturing except that the yarn is produced at higher spinning speeds coupled with intermediate drawing integrated in the process itself. This allows stabilization through orientation and crystallization. FDY yarn is produced by a continuous polymerization process. All critical yarn properties such as tenacity, elongation, luster, variation and boiling water shrinkage are closely monitored and controlled. Controlled interlace enables the yarn to be twisted or sized in subsequent operations. Special Features of FDY Intermingled FDY yarns are suitable for direct twisting, warping and weaving / knitting. Less wastage resulting in high efficiency in subsequent processes due to higher weight per unit package (up to *0 kg). The fabric made from these yarns have a feel and drape similar to fabrics produced from pure natural silk yarns resulting in high realization of product quality and value. FDY yarns eliminate draw-twisting and sizing process reducing the cost of production for light and medium range of fabrics. There is high efficiency and low breakages in warping because of excellent package quality produced on craft winder. FDY possesses excellent dyeing consistency that results in ultimate higher customer preference.
