Snow tea (chinese: xue cha) is a herb tea made from Thamnolia vermicularis, a white worm lichen, found in Yunnan province of China, 
mostly above a height of around ***0 meters. It is used in traditional medicine to treat psychic disorders, hypertension and inflammatory 
conditions of therespiratory tract.
An earlier chemical constituent study of this lichen resulted in several phenolic compounds, depsides, sterols and volatile components. 
Among them some phenolic compounds, such as thamnolic, barbatinic and bacomycesic acids, were reported to possess anti-inflammatory, 
antibiotic, antipyretic and anti-proliferative effects against several human tumour cell lines.
