Made of solid chromed steel, the Olympic Bar is designed to be used with 2 weight plates, and is not suitable for standard weight plates which have 1 wide centre. The knurled sections on the bar will both help to improve your grip as well as guide how out your hands should be spaced. The weights are often so heavy in Olympic weightlifting that bars do not require a lock mechanism on each end. The ends are ribbed slightly on our weight bars to prevent any discs sliding and therefore disrupting weight distribution.
