The Orbea M*0 might not arouse suspicion with the name. Thats because its a stealth missile, creeping up and quickly passing others on the trail in the heat of the race.
Much of the reason for this is the frame. The M is for monocoque,
the fabrication process for the frame. The frame material is the
same OMR, Orbea Monocoque Race, carbon mix that youll find in the
Team bike and it comes out of the same molds. Its light, its
aggressive, its got ample vertical compliance in back thanks to
their 4x4 design, which features swoops over straight lines
starting at the back of the top tube and going down to the
dropouts. Conversely, they achieve lateral rigidity by deploying a
nearly triangular down tube and an ultra-wide BB*2 bottom bracket
shell.
Because of their skill with carbon, and the maintenance
advantages of internal routing, theyve set the frame up with what
they call DCR, Direct Cable Routing. Its their friction-free way
of keeping the cable runs clean. It also allows for electronic
shift cabling, if you ever choose to upgrade to electronic.
