Low melting point agarose is agarose with chemical modification which has better sifted feature and more transparency. It is desired product for DNA & RNA electrophoresis and it also used in cloning of tissue culture cells and analysis of virus plaques. We add ethoxy or methoxy group to agarose. It can freeze at *0℃ and melt at *5℃ which is lower than melting point of most double strands DNA.
