The standard proximity switch is a non-contact sensor that is often used to detect the presence of metal objects. It outputs a signal by sensing the distance between the metal object and the sensor probe, thereby realizing position detection and object presence detection.

The following are the main features of the standard proximity switch:

Working principle: Based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, using the eddy current effect, when a metal object approaches, the oscillation circuit in the proximity switch changes, thereby triggering a switch signal.

Detection distance: Usually a few millimeters to tens of millimeters, depending on the sensor model and the material of the target object.

Type:

Inductive proximity switch: sensitive to metal objects, especially magnetic materials such as iron and steel.

Capacitive proximity switch: can detect non-metallic objects such as plastics, liquids, etc., but is more sensitive to metal objects.
Structural form: Common ones are cylindrical (such as M8, M*2, M*8, etc.) and square, and are also divided into flush and non-flush installation forms.
