Parchment is the goatskin* selected by means of strict selection processes and treated differently from other animal leather hides, which confers it a highly characteristic appearance. Over time, the parchment was replaced by paper; however, it never stopped being used on products that demanded greater sophistication and durability (especially government documents and diplomas) and it is still widely used in several different segments. *The goatskin is the leather hide mostly used for the production of parchment due to its excellent final result; however, calf or sheepskin may also be used for specific purposes. PERGAMINHOS DIRANI During the ***0’s, we at Dirani Cia Ltda. worked in partnership with Curtume Campelo to develop a special parchment for the printing of diplomas and certificates, turning it into one of the largest distributors of this type of product in Brazil. In ***7, we enhanced the technique for producing this material and added to our product portfolio a parchment produced especially for the following segments: FURNITURE DECORATION DIPLOMAS MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS BOOK BINDING CALLIGRAPHY During the entire production process, we use only the best products available on the market. Our leather hides are produced by means of a manual process by specialized craftsmen and are constantly analyzed in order to ensure an impeccable finishing standard.
