Properties of FRP/PVC and FRP/CPVC pipelines

FRP/PVC and FRP/CPVC composite pipes and fittings are made with virgin UPVC pipes and fittings, or chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pipes and fittings, as the lining layer on the inside, and fiber glass reinforced plastic as the reinforcing layer on the outside. These materials are joined to each other with interfacial bond, then entwined together with special machines. These composited pipes feature the anti-erosion property of UPVC and CPVC materials, and the high strength and temperature resistance of FRP materials, while eliminating the flaw of UPVC and CPVC materials, namely, inferior ability to resist pressure at a high temperature and high proneness to age when put outdoors. Hence the application range of UPVC, CPVC and FRP pipe products is widened.

FRP/PVC and FRP/CPVC composite pipes and fittings are inexpensive, easy to install and repair, enduring for use, smooth on inside wall; and feature low friction, good resistance to erosion, temperature, pressure, wear, and are well designable. The interfacial bonding strength of FRP/PVC and FRP/CPVC products are strong so they feature strong resistance to impact. In addition, they feature other advantages like low friction for fluids, no electric or chemical erosion, low investment requirements, and easy installation, etc. Consequently, they are widely used in oil field, chemical industry, machinery, metallurgic industry, light industry, electricity industry, etc, bring good economic returns.
