Industrially, ferrous sulfate is mainly used as a precursor to other iron compounds. It is areducing agent, mostly for the reduction of chromate in cement.
Together with other iron compounds, ferrous sulfate is used to fortify foods and to treatiron-deficiency anemia. 
For manfacturing Iron oxides Ferrous Sulphate is used.
In agriculture, Ferrous Sulphate is used for soil amandment and Fertilizer.
It can be used in water treatment as co-agulation agent.
It can be used in effluent treatment as separtion agent.
