Bad hiring can result in aggravated financial and legal costs. The replacement cost of a bad hire can be five times the salary of the job in question. The Employment Verification is done to check the existence of the stated past employer, to confirm the position held and the remuneration stated, to know the period of employment and about any disciplinary actions taken. Checks are carried out with the HR Officials of the previous organizations using a pre-approved questionnaire. An alternative process can be established in case HR officials are not available due to any reason.
