  • EGYCRYL Fast(Degraded Polyglactine 910):18$

Descripción del producto

DESCRIPTION:

EGYCRYL Fast is a sterile synthetic absorbable suture based on copolymer made from *0% Glycolide and *0% L-Lactide, with lower molecular weight than regular EGYCRYL to be rapidly loss its strength.

EGYCRYL Fast coated with mixture composed of equal combination of copolymer (Glycolide *0% and Lactide *0%) and calcium stearate. The sutures are available undyed. EGYCRYL Fast knot tensile strength meets USP requirements for collagen sutures as well as the requirements of EP for chorda resorbilis.

INDICATIONS:

EGYCRYL Fast  sutures are intended for use in general soft tissues approximation where the wound support is required  for a short period since EGYCRYL Fast is rapidly absorbed.

So it is useful for skin closure, particularly in paediatric surgery, episiotomies, oral mucosa, also in conjunctiva (Ophthalmic surgery).

APPLICATION:

Depending on patient condition and surgeon experience, needle and suture size can be selected.

EGYCRYL Fast falls off after 7 – *0 days post – operatively or can be wiped off subsequently with sterile gauze. Normally the removal of the sutures is not required.

PERFORMANCE :

EGYCRYL Fast sutures elicits a minimal tissue reaction and in growth of fibrous connective tissue.

Absorption occurs by means of hydrolysis, where the copolymer degrades to glycolic and lactic acids which are subsequently absorbed and metabolized in the body. Absorption begins as a loss of tensile strength and end by a total loss of mass.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

EGYCRYLFast is contraindicated where extended approximation of tissue under stress is required, and where wound support or ligation beyond 7 days is required. EGYCRYL Fast is contraindicated to be used in cardiovascular or neurological tissues.

WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS:

Under certain circumstances, notable procedures, immobilization of joints by external support may be employed at the discretion of surgeon.

Surgeons should consider the absorption rate which mentioned above when selecting EGYCRYL Fast as a suture material for any wound closure.

Each USP size has its upper limits tensile strength (USP and EP), over stretch above this limits may lead to suture damage.

Acceptable surgical practice should be followed with respect to drainage and closure of infected wounds.

EGYCRYL Fast sutures require the standard surgical technique of flat and square ties with additional throws if indicated by surgical circumstances and the experiences of the surgeon. Skin sutures which remain in place longer than 7 days may cause localized irritation and should be snipped off or removed (as all absorbable sutures).

Consideration should be taken in the use of absorbable sutures in tissues with poor blood supply as sutures extrusion and delayed absorption may occur. Subcuticular sutures should be placed as deeply as possible to minimize the erythema and induration normally associated with the absorption process.

This suture may be inappropriate in elderly, malnourished, debilitated patients, or in patients suffering from conditions which may delay wound healing.
