Polyester itself has a long history in the outdoor industry for being the go-to fiber for weather-resistant outerwear. However, it's also a synthetic material derived from oil, a non-renewable resource. Currently, recycled polyester is the most sustainable fiber used to produce weather-resistant outerwear. It also happens to be our most versatile fiber. Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a source of raw materials. It curbs discards, thereby prolonging landfill life and reducing toxic emissions from incinerators. It helps to promote new recycling streams for polyester clothing that is no longer wearable. And it causes less air, water and soil contamination compared to using nonrecycled polyester. It's an extremely versatile, sustainable fiber that we use to create a collection of premium fabrics.
