| The method of
applying direct and direct fact dyes is the simplest of those
of dyes. They are renowned for their direct solubility in
water, full range of colours, brilliance in shades good levelling
property, low prices and strong affinity on cellulosic fibres.
Another feature is that they can be used for direct dyeing without
the need of adding any mordant. Direct and direct fact dyes suitable for dyeing cotton, linen, viscose, cuprammonium, natural silk, wool and polyamide fibres as well as their blends (such as cotton/wool and silk/wool blends). However, they are mainly employed for the dyeing and printing of cotton knitwear, corduroy, cotton yarn and silk. They also play an important role in the redyeing to darker shades of clothing and other textiles. In addition, paper and leather can likewise be dyed with direct and direct fact dyes. |
