There are around **0 kinds of dates in Iran. Iranian dates have different attributes and degrees of color and each of them are used differently. The most important date fruit is Astamaran date which is a semi- dried date, has export value and is one of the highly exported productions of Khouzestan province. The second one is Shahani date which is sometimes called Khork Shani and is a dried date as the most important production of Fars province.

Zahedi Date is a dried date but in some areas is considered as wet date fruit. Its color is light brown, is late- fruit and Borazjan , Kazerun and Boushehr are the most cities that the date is grown in. It is to be noted that America, Egypt and Iraq have the suitable condition for cultivation of Zahedi Date.

Kabkab Date, Rabbi Date, Barhi Date, Gantar Date, Allmehtari Date, Khazeavi Date, Khassui Date, Piarom Date, Mordar Sang Date, Lulu Date and others are other kinds of date but there is another kind of the date which sounds more familiar: Bam Mazafati date which can be considered as the most delicious kind of dates. It is a fresh and semi-fresh date which is mostly cultivated in provinces such as Kerman, Iranshahr, Nickshahr, Tabas, etc.
