β-carotene is a red-orange oil soluble pigment abundant in plants and fruits. It is frequently-used in food industry as food color as well as nutrient supplement. β-carotene enhances the appearance of the food, giving a bright yellow color, and converted into Vitamin A when consumed. Being both coloring agent and nutrient supplement has resulted β-carotene being a much preferred ingredient than artificial colors. β-Carotene appears dark red in high concentration, while yellow in low concentration.



β-carotene can be used in almost all kinds of food, like soft drinks, ice cream, bakery, puddings and jelly,etc. without settling or oil-ring, stable when exposed to sunlight, and no adding preservative.
